One night in Santiago to explore a couple of new areas, then we're off to the Lake District in Northern Patagonia - specifically the area around Lake Llanquihue(pron. Yankee-wheh). We stayed at the beautifully situated Hotel AWA.

A wonderful trip was assured when we were greeted unexpectedly at the Puerto Montt airport by Basilio, who had become a friend as our expedition lead at Tierra Patagonia the year before. He saw that two women named Liz and Mara had booked massages and just knew it had to be our group again!
