After two previous failed attempts, one due to Covid and one weather, and a day and a half in Punta Arenas waiting for a weather window, we finally took off for Antarctica. Only the pilots decision to make an unusual, extended, low-level approach to the gravel landing strip at Frei Station, Antarctica, kept us from being turned back at the last minute. But, finally, we were there...the 7th continent...the white desert...the bottom of the world.
